Stealing Signs

We had two Obama signs in front of our house when I left for school this morning. When I returned home just now, they were gone and the frames remained. Someone in my neighborhood apparently is in a bad mood about an Obama administration. Tuesday night when Obama in his victory speech said "And to those Americans whose support I have yet to earn, I may not have won your vote tonight, but I hear your voices. I need your help. And I will be your president, too." I'm not sure the guy who removed our signs listened to that speech. I remember being very depressed four years ago, and being sad removing the Kerry sticker from my car. That car flooded after Katrina, and never in my life have I removed someone else's sticker or sign.

Think positive. Maybe somebody just wanted a sign of their very own.

They left the posts that the signs hang over, and there was plastic there showing they had been ripped.

Our Obama sign, sans posts, was stolen Wed. night. I hope someone just wanted it for themselves . . . .

That's it -- people are stealing them as souvenirs of an incredible event in American history. I was scanning neutral grounds for signs I saw earlier in the day, but they were *all* gone shortly after the polls closed. I also observed that there were *no* New York Times papers to be found in any paper box by 8 a.m. on Wednesday. Seems they could have sold a whole bunch more papers -- and signs. Sorry you lost your sign.

Oh yeah, and removing the Kerry sticker. I left it on out of pride for a while, but at some point, I just thought the guy was a loser for not more aggressively fighting back the swiftboat attacks, and tore it off out of contempt, or just resignation.
