Red Street Cars on Canal
This morning, for the first time since Katrina, I saw two red street cars on Canal Street. They weren't taking passengers, presumably they were just testing the streetcars. It was certainly nice to see them though.
Last year I was coming back from a business trip and on the way home from the airport we stopped at the Superior Grill for an early dinner (my husband likes the very spicy shrimp cocktail that makes the back of his neck sweat). That was the first day the St. Charles streetcar was running with passengers again. It was awesome to see people waiting around with their beers in hand to jump on and off. It was like all of a sudden, everything seemed "normal."
