I have lived 45 years without knowing that such an amazing culinary combination was possible. Some local police opened Blue Dot Donuts right around the corner from our house. Sorry, but it just does not look or sound appealing.
I've shit these for years. I just don't sell them to the public.
I didn't know where to stick this unrelated-to-the-current-post comment, but I figure here is as good as any.
I just came across a free e-book, The Claim Game, that might be of interest to you given your ordeal with Katrina, your damaged home and your homeowner's insurance. It's also for sale on Amazon (where three reviewers give it 5 stars), but why pay for it if you can get it free?
I'd be curious to know if you think you would have benefited from reading it before the storm.
My condolences to you and your family on the loss of Therese's grandmother.

Anonymous, that book looks interesting. I ordered the paperback on Amazon. It helped immensely that my father in law was an insurance adjuster and helped us document our losses and fight the insurance company.
I just wanted to add that I'm not the book's author; I just came across it today as I was doing research before buying a home. I have been following your blog since Katrina and I commented a few times a long time ago.
