After our New Orleans house flooded because the levees broke in 2005, we decided to raise it three feet (that is raise our house, not the levees unfortunately). Thank God for the incredible strength of Gilgamesh and Kalypso. And for the record, Mosey has lost much weight, but sadly, like me, she is still a fatty.
Maybe if you'd had Enkidu around it would've gone a bit more quickly (dog and father notwithstanding...)

ReplyDeleteAnyway I have a strange question: After raising the house, did they put pillars under it or did they fill it in with cement or something? Just curious as to how that works.
Looking forward to seeing more progress on the house and am hopeful for you that it's not too much longer til it's finished! You're still fighting Allstate, correct?
We settled with Allstate a couple of months ago. We are glad that is behind us. Right now there are boards piled up and steel beams to keep the house up. They will build a new foundation cement and bricks and then lower the house on to the foundation. Thanks for your kind words.
