Way to Go Pat Robertson! Just Like Jesus

So Pat Robertson has called for the assassination of Chavez? It reminds me of the time that Jesus said "We Jews have the ability to take Pilate out, and I think the time has come that we exercise that ability. We don't need another $200 shekel war to get rid of one, you know, strong-arm dictator like Pilate. It's a whole lot easier to have some of the covert zealots do the job and then get it over with."

A Later Note from September 9th Many angry people have written me correctly stating that Jesus did not say the above quotation. I know that. My point was that Pat Robertson was not in line with Jesus' teachings. That's all.

    Hey Doug,

Ever hear of the concept of sarcasm? The point was, Jesus would never act like Pat Robertson, even though Robertson acts in the name of Jesus.

I've never heard/read Jesus saying such a thing. No talk about things you don't know. He came to give his life for the world, not to make people kill other people.

Wow, how sarcasm can be lost on some people... Makes you wonder just what they teach in schools these days. But that's the trouble with webwriting, people can't see your tongue planted firmly in cheek.

Off topic, but my comment about schools reminded me of a site I saw called Fallacies, it explained logical argument. Kinda like teaching people how to think. It explained concepts like circular reasoning, straw man, red herring, all things used in spurious arguments. But looking around you at public debate these days, how many people would recognize an illogical argument if it came up and bit them on the ankle?
